Sep. 11th.  What we LOVED about our Rick Steves Tour was that our hostess, Cathie Ryan, was allowed flexibility.  Today being 9/11, Cathie knew we were all Americans in this particular group.  So she took us on a detour to a 9/11 Memorial Garden founded by a local nurse who had worked in NYC.  She dedicated the garden to all the 343 NYC firefighters who lost their lives.  She planted a tree for each one and put their name on it.  It was an extremely moving experience.  To end our visit, Cathie sang a very emotional song that left us all in tears as we boarded the bus.  Thank you Cathie Ryan.
